Tackle Your Vision

Faith RalstonIt sounds so simple - leaders talking honestly about what matters to them, sharing their talents, dreams and frustrations. I've seen it a thousand times. Visions come alive when leaders connect. It's always greater trust and teamwork that unravel the knots of conflicts and motivate action.

Pent up frustrations melt away as individuals discover common ground and leverage their collective talents to achieve amazing results. Along the way I've learned you'd rather strive for bold visions than succeed with meager goals. And you're more likely to move mountains when you're doing what you love.

Play big...

But so what? Today as a leader, you're up against national and institutional challenges that are bigger than any one person or organization can solve alone. To succeed you must work across boundaries and find radical new solutions. The challenges you face require more than rearranging your piece of the pie. To succeed you must bring more of you to the table - more energy, more commitment, more courage. To win you must play big. Nothing else will make a dent in the changes needed.

Dive in...

I invite you to take the leap and jump into the fray. My role is to help you succeed. In the process you'll learn how to build greater trust and leverage your best talents to make things happen. Whether you're leading health care, high tech or a service industry- the time is ripe to create new visions and tackle the tough stuff. The choice is yours. What are you going to do?

Get started.

To get started, look around. Pick a lofty goal. Find something you care about. Choose an idea that takes your breath away. Don't rush. Let it come to you. Simply ask the question, ‘What's my lofty goal?' As the idea starts to percolate, put words to it. Name it. Say it out loud. Plant this idea firmly in your mind. Water it every day with actions and inspiration. Share it with a few trusted friends. Don't allow the idea to marinate and go sour. Do something to bring it about. Find allies who love your vision. They're out there. Enroll them by sharing your ideas and enthusiasm. Use your talents to make things happen. Surround yourself with others who can fill in the gaps. Get started. Soon you'll discover renewed vigor and a bounce in your step.
